2011 News

This will be on Friday, 18 November 2011, at 7.45 pm (08 8332 6660). Visitors are welcome. Guest Speaker will be Nick Minchin, who as a South Australian senator from 1993 to 2011 was a Federal Minister, and the Leader of the Government in the Senate.

Mr Minchin will not only speak about his time in the Senate and in Government, but specifically on his views on electoral systems. In particular we have asked him to talk about the election he organized for electing the delegates for the 1998 Constitutional Convention on a Republic where proportional representation was used, as well as this election being entirely by postal voting and with voluntary voting.
